Hello Danielle,
Nice video! It was simple and to the point. NIce transitions and special effects. I'm wondering if you could add some pictures of people doing certain activities during certain days of the week. For instance, maybe a family going to church on Sunday or a child playing baseball on Saturday. Or maybe you could have a child narrate what they do each day of the week and flash back to a calendar for each day of the week. Just thought I'd throw some ideas out there.

Nice video! the sound was great the transition was good the background music was nice the voice was clear. However, the movie was a little too vage it needed some more substance like "why the day of the week", "what is the purpose", no photo or video to back it up. Just thought I would suggest some "food for thought."

I really liked the pictures for each day of the week. I do have an idea that I would try for the topic. Maybe for each day of the week, you can think of something do do. Maybe on Saturday you can show someone at the beach, and on Sunday at a football game. That could help.

i'm assuming this is for an elementary class. if so i would add a character or characters for the movie. like on "sunday" "sally" goes to the "store", "monday" "mike" goes to the "mall", etc. or you could do a sing along with the days of the week and you could even involve your students to sing along and film them.

Hi,
Very nice video!! The graphics are fun and it would definitely grab children's attention. I like Doug's idea of doing something on each day - that might me fun!!
Great job

Overall, the video was nicely presented. However, you need more information about what happens on the days of the week. For example, kids go to school, parents go to work, weekends are for fun etc.
Good luck!

Nice idea!
I think that by adding pictures that relate to what you say for each day it might make it more interesting. For example, when you say that Monday starts the school week you could put a picture of kids getting off a bus or walking into school. Otherwise good job!

I love all of the different ways you displayed the days of the week. Maybe you could add some music to the background to jazz it up.

HI Danielle,
This is a great idea. The voice cut out as I was watching your video. I do a song with my students to the tune of the adams family. If you incorporate it into your video it will be really good. Nice job!

Hello Danielle,
Loved how the transitions looked like fireworks! Adding characters and events would definately bring the video to life. Maybe you could even incorporate cartoon characters to grab the students attention. This video would be great fo ELL's as well

Did you mean for the voiceover to stop? I agree with the others that a little more illustration would be helpful especially for younger students. Great idea and with a little more pizazz it could be a great video.

Hi Danielle!

Nice start to your video but your audio stops playing after the description of Monday. I think it would also be nice to add images in the background of some slides. For example, when discussing “Monday” you mention that it starts the school day. Maybe add an image of a school house or school bus and credits at the end.

Good video. I have little kids at home, and they love the "Days of the week song" It's to the tune of The Adam's Family. Maybe you could get some kooky kids to dress up and be The Adams Family. They could sit on the floor and snap their fingers. Do you know the song, or am I dating myself? I could get them to sing it for you and send it over. Just a thought.

You could do it in English and Spanish too:
Days of the week (snap, snap)
Days of the week (snap, snap)
Days of the week, days of the week, days of the week (snap, snap)
There’s Sunday then there’s Monday
Tuesday then there’s Wednesday
Thursday then there’s Friday
And then there’s Saturday
Days of the week (snap, snap)
Days of the week (snap, snap)
Days of the week, days of the week, days of the week (snap, snap)

Teaching Spanish Days of the Week

If you're focusing on Spanish Language in your classroom, here is an extra song to sing after the English version.
(to the same tune)
There's Domingo (Sunday) and there's Lunes (Monday)
and then there is Miercoles (Wednesday)
Jueves (Thursday) and Viernes (Friday)
and then Sabado (Saturday)

Danielle,
I had the same dilemma with my topic this week: the critical lens essay, but then a friend of mine gave me some good advice: Not all videos are meant to 'wow' the audience with special effects...some videos are simply informational in nature. To that end, I think your video is off to a good start. I might add some images of children doing things during each day of the week (e.g. attending school, attending after-school activities, such as dance or music classes, or sports activities.) I also think you should feature the calendar each time you introduce a new day of the week to help make the connection. Lastly, what about having a student or tow recite the days of the week at the end of the video...might be a good way to add a live shot.
Other than these few suggestions...GREAT idea...and VERY informational!
